Our Mission at West Miami Montessori Learning Academy is to prepare our children for the future by providing a quality educational program that will inspire children to achieve academic excellence, independence, and personal growth in a safe, respectful, nurturing, and diverse environment.
Our method for teaching is based on the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori who believed that all children have an innate ability to learn independently when provided with a positive environment rich with materials that foster meaningful learning experiences known as the Prepared Environment. Children have the ability to explore and learn at their own pace in an environment that is designed to educate first through the senses and later through the abstract in reading, writing, advanced mathematics, problem solving, geography, science and cultural studies.
All our Lead teachers are Montessori certified, loving, caring, and genuinely motivated individuals who inspire children to work at their own pace, alone, or with others. They encourage the growth of self-motivated, independent children by balancing active, self-directed learning with small group collaboration and peer teaching.
At West Miami Montessori Learning Academy, we are committed to caring for and educating the "whole child". Our students well being, safety, and success is our top priority. We will always strive to promote the highest quality educational environment that challenges, nurtures, and inspires our children to succeed.

Why Choose Montessori?
Dr. Maria Montessori studied children throughout the course of her adult life and found that meaningful learning takes place through the use of the senses and through physical interaction within their environment. She also found that young children can rapidly absorb large amounts of information, soaking up all aspects of the environment. This is what Dr. Montessori referred to as the “absorbent mind.”
Dr. Maria Montessori discovered a child's learning is further enhanced during their sensitive period, from birth to the age of six in which the child shows an intense interest in a particular skill or area. She believed that within each child lies a great potential waiting to be released. As a result, Dr. Maria Montessori theorized that beginning a child's education from birth is essential in their reaching their greatest potential later on in life. She considered the work of the child to be that of creating the adult he or she will one day become. Through the use of the Montessori method of teaching, children have been able to attain a higher level of development than previously thought possible, not only academically, but in all areas of their growth and development.
